In creating the label for this collaborative beer, I navigated the delicate balance of preserving both John’s Grocery and Lion Bridge Brewing branding. Additionally, I seamlessly integrated two Alberhasky family photos while conveying the rich narrative behind this beer and its significance.
Taking inspiration from the shared love of Star Trek between the owner of John’s Grocery and his son—the next generation of Alberhasky—I crafted a label that pays homage to the iconic series ‘The Next Generation.’ The label design features a captivating spaceship theme, capturing the spirit of exploration and adventure.
To incorporate the photo of the owner and his son in a way that fit the design I had to get creative. First, I extracted their silhouettes from the original photograph. Then, I adorned them with a celestial cloak of stars, transforming them into enigmatic figures.
Both John’s Grocery and Lion Bridge Brewing expressed great satisfaction with the design. It made its debut at John’s Grocery’s beer fest and was prominently featured at Trek Fest—a fan festival held in the future birthplace of Captain Kirk. Additionally, it became a sought-after item in various stores across Iowa
